Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris, France
16 Oct, 2012
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary and in accordance to its vocation to publicize and support the creation of contemporary art, the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) selected to present its public a visual arts exhibition designed especially for this celebration dedicated to “25 years of creativity” in the Arab World. This exhibition will occupy different spaces in the interior of the IMA, as well as in the Mobile Art.
Eager to continue a track opened and drawn by proposing to its audience more than 100 exhibitions in the field of visual arts during its first 25 years of existence, Institut du Monde Arabe celebrates with this great exhibition entitled 25 Years of Arab Creativity entrusted to the Art Critic and Egyptian Art Specialist Ihab El Laban. The exhibition proposes to present the principal directions recently borrowed by Arab artists and their sources of inspiration in an art whose characteristics have come little by little to take a lead. A panorama is elaborated with the most exhaustive trends possible and research which, for 25 years, are of interest to the contemporary Arab creation, no matter which media is used: painting, sculpture, photography, media installation.
